Welcome to Metagita! We're in the process of getting the site off the ground, so please bear with us—and check back frequently for new updates. As of now, there is just one Gītā translation (in Persian) available to peruse, along with a draft English translation by yours truly. That said, we hope to be adding new content each week. Also look for new features: the ability to compare texts side by side, link texts with commentaries, and apply digital humanities tools of various sorts to our databases. A quick note on the texts: we here at Open Philology believe in open source scholarship—that is to say, we believe in sharing our work, the product of (in some cases) years and much blood, sweat, and tears, with you, our scholarly and non-scholarly public. We hope, in the future, to add interactive features to the site, including wiki-like functionalities which might allow readers to propose changes to translations or transcriptions, in real time. For now, we only ask that you refrain from reprinting our translations and transcriptions—all of which are under copyright—without permission and credit. (We not only allow, of course, but encourage citations of this material.)
